 Malta National Day Celebrations in Paris

On 23 September 2021, the Embassy of Malta in France celebrated the 57th anniversary of Malta’s Independence. On this occasion, the Embassy organised a concert at the Town Hall of the 8th District of Paris, 'Mélodies françaises, airs d'opéra et surprises maltaises' by soprano Johanna Cassar, accompanied by musicians Louis Rodde on the violincello, and Marion Lénart, on the harp.

 

In his opening address, Ambassador Carmelo Inguanez reaffirmed the good relations which exists between Malta and France, while referring to Malta’s Mediterranean and European vocation.

 

Present for this event were the Mayor of the 8th district of Paris, Ms Jeanne d'Hauteserre; the Chairman of the Select Committee on Foreign Affairs, Defence and Armed Forces at the French Senate, Senator Christian Cambon; the Secretary General of the French Presidency of the European Union, Ambassador Xavier Lapeyre de Cabanes; Ambassadors and members of the diplomatic community in Paris lead by the Dean of Diplomatic Corps. H.E. Mgr. Celestini Migliore; the Honorary Consuls of Malta in Bordeaux, Lille, Marseille and Strasbourg; Maltese nationals living in France, and friends of the Embassy.
