The Embassy of Malta in Berlin marks the International Day Against Homophobia, Biphobia, Intersexism and Transphobia (IDAHOBIT)

To mark the International Day Against Homophobia, Biphobia, Intersexism and Transphobia (IDAHOBIT) 2021, MANEO, the Gay anti-Violence Project in Berlin, organised an event on 17 May, 2021 in Berlin in support of Social Tolerance and Diversity and against Racism, Homophobia and Transphobia. The event was supported by the Berlin Tolerance Alliance.

The Ambassador of Malta to Germany, Dr Vanni Xuereb, and the Deputy Head of Mission, Mark Abela, participated in the activity as an expression of support for the sterling work being undertaken by MANEO and to reaffirm Malta’s commitment towards combating all forms of discrimination and violence.

MANEO Manager Bastjan Finke thanked the Maltese Ambassador for his participation and for supporting the IDAHOBIT campaign in Berlin. Many participants congratulated Ambassador Xuereb for the results of the Rainbow Europe Map for 2021 which were published on that same day and from which it emerged that Malta continues to occupy first place on the Rainbow Europe Map for the sixth year in a row.

The District Mayor of Tempelhof-Schöneberg, Angelika Schöttler, members of the State Parliament of Berlin and other personalities also participated in the event.
